Integrated Services
The Saanich Police participate in a variety of specialized police services through cooperative agreements with other municipal Police Agencies in the CRD. Some of these services require a high degree of specialization (eg. Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team) or operate better from a regional rather than a local framework. By integrating and sharing resources among police agencies all communities benefit equally. By working together we have found that we can optimize the effectiveness and efficiency of these specialized services without compromising Saanich core community policing services.
The following are some of the integrated services, as well, Saanich does supply officers when Victoria ask for assistance, for example, Canada Day celebrations and we have participated in the Cops for Cancer:
Dive Team; Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team (GVERT); Integrated Road Safety Unit (IRSU); Regional Domestic Violence Unit (RDVU); National Child Exploitation Coordination Centre (NCECC); Regional Crime Unit (RCU); and Integrated Mobile Crisis Response Team (IMCRT).
